FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Workshops:
Will workshops be Covid safe?
I am very strict on Covid safety measures as one of my family members is on immunosuppressants. There will be good ventilation as well as a HEPA filter in the studio. I will be wearing as mask at all times and would be pleased if students wore them too, but understand this is not always possible. There will be hand sanitisers, alcohol spray and masks available and students will all have their own tools which will be sanitised beforehand. Students are encouraged to do a LFT test before they come. There will be no more than 5 people in the room at all times, which will allow for social distancing. Students will be encouraged to embrace the safety precautions and are asked not to come if they are ill or close contacts of someone who is positive. Refunds or rescheduling of the workshop will be arranged in these circumstances. If I become aware of a Covid case in a student after the workshop, I will make sure to let all participants know immediately.
Where are you located?
The studio is located in a small hamlet called Honeycombe Leaze, about 10-15 min from Cirencester, Gloucestershire. On booking you will be provided with detailed directions on how to find me.
Is there disabled access?
The studio and the loo are both on ground level, so technically yes. The loo is not adapted for disabled access and I am not sure about the width of doors etc. If you need disabled access, if you could provide me with a width of chair, I can check out the doorways etc. and get back to you.
Will refreshments be provided?
There will be tea and coffee available, but there is nowhere nearby to buy lunch as the studio is out in the countryside. Please bring a packed lunch and snacks with you.
What happens if I fall behind and run out of time?
All mosaic workshops are designed to give you plenty of time to finish. With one day workshops, we generally work till about 2pm and have a late lunch. This allows the glue from the morning session to dry sufficiently before we grout it. If you have not completed your glasswork in the morning session you are welcome to continue in the afternoon and grout at home. You will be shown how and sent home with grout and instructions.
Do you do 1:1 or bespoke workshops covering specific things or for small groups?
Yes, I do, but only for groups of up to 4 at the moment. Prices are on the main workshop page. Happy for you to contact me to arrange something special.
How do refunds and cancellations work?
If you cancel up to two weeks before the course, we can reschedule or refund. If you are ill on the day, or think you might have Covid, I would prefer if you didn't come and would be happy to reschedule. If you just fail to turn up without notice I will not reschedule and there will be no refund, unless due to an extreme reason.
If I have to cancel I will try and give you as much notice as possible, unless it is due to sudden illness. If I have to cancel for any reason, I will try in the first instance to reschedule your workshop. If none of the rescheduled dates are suitable for you, I will refund, but only as a last resort if no possible dates can be agreed on.
Do you do vouchers and how do they work?
Yes I do vouchers. You can contact me directly on here or purchase a voucher in my online shop, look at the shop link. The voucher can be emailed to you or a printed voucher can be posted for an additional charge. The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of sale. After that time no refund will be given. It is okay if you book a course within that twelve month period, even if the actual date of the course falls outside the 12 months.
